Crime Scene Analyst
Mark Waldo, owns and operates FORENSICS 360, an independent forensic consulting & training company in forensic analysis and crime scene reconstruction. He specializes in scientific crime scene reconstruction and shooting reconstruction. His wide-range of experience consists of over 2000 hours of formalized training in various forensic disciplines. His extensive in-service training includes many courses in forensics, criminalistics, and homicide investigation from scientific organizations, and investigative agencies throughout the United States. He has also conducted dozens of training sessions for various forensic practitioners and has presented nationally at; the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the California State Division of the IAI, Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers, the Western States Joint IAI conference, the Rocky Mountain Division of the IAI, the International Association for Identification, and internationally at the 13th International Congress on Criminalistics and Forensic Science in Mexico.
Active in national, state and local professional forensic associations, Mark Waldo is a member in good standing with the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction (ACSR), the California State Division of the International Association for Identification (CSDIAI), the International Association for Identification (IAI), and the Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers (SCAFO). He has also served as President and Chairman of the Executive Boards of the California State Division of IAI and of the Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers.
Mark has over 26 years experience in forensic science and crime scene investigation and currently is the Forensic Services Supervisor with a local municipal law enforcement agency. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management with an emphasis in Leadership, a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Science and Crime Scene Investigations, and a Masters Degree in Forensic Science. Mark is also a Board Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst (CSCSA) through the International Association for Identification (IAI).
He has testified in both Juvenile and Superior courts and has been recognized as an expert in the areas of crime scene investigation, evidence collection and processing, forensic analysis, latent print processing, gunshot trajectory and shooting reconstruction. His primary assignment has been in the Crime Scene Unit, where he has investigated hundreds of major and high profile crime scenes, utilizing various forensic techniques which he learned from over 2000 hours of formalized training in a variety of forensic disciplines. Mark enjoys firearm identification as well and has been crossed trained in the Forensic Firearms Unit as a Senior IBIS Technician.
Mark maintains membership in good standing with the following professional forensic associations:
