Basic Crime Scene Investigation
This course is intended for newly appointed Crime Scene Investigators and/or forensic students needing instruction on basic crime scene investigation, documentation,
evidence collection and packaging.
Advanced Crime Scene Investigation
Shooting Incident Reconstruction
This course is intended for the more experienced crime scene investigators and detectives who have completed a basic crime scene investigation course.
This course will instruct the student on how to document and reconstruct a shooting incident with the use of photography, string and lasers.
Court Room Testimony
This course will prepare the student for courtroom testimony. covering all aspects of courtroom testimony from preparing for a case to testifying techniques. Students will participate in a mock court room trial.
Shoe Print & Tire Track
The course is intended for new and experienced crime scene investigators and detectives tasked with the recovery of this underutilized evidence. Students will have hands-on training on photographing and casting Shoeprints and Tire Tracks.
Crime Scene Photography
This course will provide instruction on the basic concepts of camera operation and how to document a crime scene with the use of photography. Topics will include basic exposure settings, focus, composition, and night time photography / painting with light.
Buried Body and Skeletal Remains Recovery
Preparing for a Career in Forensics
This course will cover basic training and techniques for buried body or surface skeleton remains. Students will have hands-on training on identifying grave sites, documenting, and recovering potential physical evidence and human remains. The student will also learn how to dig a site while preserving evidence.
This course is intended for the new forensic student or the experience forensic professional preparing for a position or promotion in forensics. The course will review the application process, written exams, the oral interview, and the background investigation. The student will participate in a mock interview.
Crime Scene Documentation
This course will cover proper crime scene documentation with the use of sketches, measurements and factual diagraming. Students will also learn the proper documentation of large outdoor scenes with the use of Trangulations, Baseline Measurements, Polar Coordinates nd Prespective Grid.
Leadership in Forensics
This course will cover basic training and techniques on how to be a good leader or supervisor. The good and bad qualities of a supervisor will be reviewed and "toxic leadership" will be discussed. Students will also learn how to communicate effectively with their teammates.
Major Case Investigation
This course is intended for the experienced forensic professionals. Actual major crime scenes will reviewed, analyzed, and critiqued. The pros and cons of scene briefing and debriefing will be discussed.
Leica 3D Scene Scanning
This course will cover proper crime scene documentation with the use of a Leica 3D Scanner. Students will learn the benefits of using 3D scanning and the proper documentation of large outdoor and small indoor scenes with hands-on application.
